Fisher in her TED Talk says romantic love is an intense craving to be with someone more emotionally than sexually. It's more like a motivation with a little bit of obsession.

Fisher explains that asking someone casually for sex doesn't lead you to depression when you are rejected. But you go into depression when you are rejected by someone you love.
